Rahaman Ali
Muhammad Ali's younger brother, Rahaman Ali, passed away at 82. The reason for his demise is not yet disclosed. Born as Rudolph Arnett Clay, he was a year and a half younger than his brother. In their cozy house in Louisville's west end, both brothers liked to play cards, wrestle, and shoot hoops. He looked up to his brother, following in his path, and became a professional boxer in the heavyweight division. Being an outstanding amateur boxer, Ali won his first professional fight in an undercard bout the same evening that his brother became the world heavyweight champion. In 1972, he had a technical knockout, after which he retired. After retiring, he became a chauffeur, sparring partner, chef, gofer, and cornerman for his older brother, Muhammad Ali. Even though his career spans only eight years, he has gathered a respectable record of 14 wins, 1 draw, and 3 losses. In 2014, Rahaman released a book named "That's Muhammad Ali's Brother! My Life on the Undercard." It was co-authored by columnist H. Ron Brashear and the boxing legend himself. After that, in 2019, he penned a second book titled "My Brother, Muhammad Ali - The Definitive Biography." Rahaman never got to the heights that his brother had, but he played a pivotal role in his brother's life. Download the Obituary App and honor his memory.
