'Pretty Little Baby' singer Connie Francis passed away at 87. The American actress and singer was hospitalized two weeks prior to her untimely demise after experiencing 'extreme pain.' She was a prominent singer from the early 1950s to the 1960s, and was popular for her hits, including "Frankie," "Who's Sorry Now," and "Stupid Cupid." At the time of its release, "Pretty Little Baby" was not a major hit. As a matter of fact, it was not even released as a single. However, in April 2025, it was streamed 17000 times a week in the United States. After a month, it hiked to 2.4 million streaks per week. Born in Newark in 1937 as Concetta Franconero, the singer later changed her name for better pronunciation. She is estimated to have sold more than 200 million records worldwide. In 1960, she was recognized as one of the most successful female artists in different countries, including Australia, Japan, Italy, Germany, and the United Kingdom. In the same year, she made history by becoming the first woman to get No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with her song "Everybody's Somebody's Fool." It did not take her long to become the first woman to earn three No. 1 hits on the charts, which were in her 53 career singles. In 1984, she published her autobiography titled "Who's Sorry Now," which became a New York Times bestseller. Connie was not just a melodious voice; she was a force. From heartbreaks to hope and tragedy to triumph, she sang through it all. Her son, Joey Garzilli, survives her and misses her deeply.
