Sheldon Matthew peacefully passed away on August 4, 2024, in Mobile, Alabama, at the age of 55. Born on September 27, 1968, in his beloved hometown of Mobile, AL. The Cottage Hill Memorial Funeral Home, located at 7158 Cottage Hill Road in Mobile, Alabama, will be hosting the funeral service. Aug. 15,2004 Visitation 4pm til 6pm Service 6pm. Sheldon, the son of Willie Matthews and Shirley Matthews, was a man of exceptional character. He attended John L. Leflore High School, where he acquired invaluable knowledge and formed lifelong friendships. He leaves behind a rich legacy through his devoted children and grandchildren. Survived by his daughter, Jazzmon (Jermaine) Arnold, and son, Aaron (Iesha) Dunn, Sheldon's unconditional love for his family knew no bounds. His six grandchildren, Jamal, JerMya, Cameron (CJ), Emily, Sophie, and Saige, were the joy of his life. Sheldon is also survived by his two brothers, Jonnie (Michelle) Matthews and Karlos Matthews of Atlanta, Georgia, as well as his sister, April Simmons of Montgomery, Alabama. He was also cherished by his stepbrother, Brennan Mayhand of Mobile, Alabama. A true friend, Wanda Merriweather, held a special place in Sheldon's heart. Additionally, a host of other friends and family will forever hold Sheldon's memory dear. Preceding Sheldon in death were his beloved grandparents, Daniel and Minister Van Doris Armstrong, as well as his parents, Willie Matthews, and Shirley Armstrong Matthews. Please join us in celebrating Sheldon's life on the specified date, as we honor his memory, pay our respects, and share in the joy of having known him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
